Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships Results
Bij de finale vrouwen slopestyle werd een gezamenlijk besluit genomen om deze te cancelen. Dit als gevolg van de ongunstige weersomstandigheden die middag. Er werd besloten om de semi-final te laten gelden als de finale. waarbij Spencer O’Brien er dus met de eerste prijs vandoor ging.
De mannen slopestyle had iets betere condities al waren die niet optimaal. Het sneeuwde voortdurend en daardoor waren het zware omstandigheden. Mark McMorris wist toch wist toch een eerste plaats te halen met een MINI wallride to gap to lipslide, gap to backside lipslide, double backflip indy grab en een frontside 1080 mute grab to a backside1080 mute grab.
Mark’s reactie; “Winning the US Open is one of the highlights from my season, and I think everyone is psyched to see it in Vail, conditions were a little rough, but I kept my speed up, and these are the best jumps ever built in slopestyle. I’m having more fun than I’ve ever had and to be sharing the podium with my good friends is really fun.”

Tijdens de halfpipe finale wist Shaun White een topscore van 95,58 punten te behalen. Dit bezorgde hem zijn vijfde US Open halfpipe overwinning. zijn winnende trick combination bevatte een backside air, frontside 1080 double cork stalefish grab, Cab 1080 double cork melon grab,frontside 540 stalefish grab, backside 1260 double McTwist mute grab en een frontside 1260 double cork stalefish grab.
Shaun’s reactie; “It was incredible to get my fifth US Open halfpipe title in Vail, and hands down, this is the best pipe of the year, I’m pretty happy to end my season with a win at the US Open.”
De dames halfpipe was net zo indrukwekkend, met een eerste plaats voor Kelly Clark met 84,45 punten. Haar run bevatte een frontside 1080 indy grab, Cab 720 mute grab, lien air en een backside 540 mute grab to a frontside 720 stalefish grab. Ze schreef geschiedenis tijdens de US Open ze heeft namelijk nu de meeste titels op haar naam staan en verdiende haar derde World Snowboard Tour titel. En misschien wel meest indrukwekkend haar 61e halfpipe overwinning, waardoor ze de meest succesvolle halfpipe snowboardster is.
