Ultracycling & SRAM – Perfecte combinatie
The 33 year-old Italian will start his season with a solo ride from Paris to Rome — 1,500 km across the Alps during winter from capital to capital city, riding on historic roads. In April he will target the most important ultracycling marathon “Race Across Italy”, 840 km nonstop race during which he will try to take the overall victory after a second place in 2013. There are the first two first challenges of his busy 2015 season. The others will be announced in the coming months.
Extreme distance, hours on the saddle, bad weather conditions and steep gradients are not only challenging the riders physical limits but also the robustness and performance their equipment. Omar has selected SRAM’s Force 22 groupset to achieve his goals with a free mind, only focus on his body and ride.

SRAM Force 22 is ready for whatever comes, no matter when and how difficult. This pro-proven groupset is bred with the DNA of SRAM RED. Riding the lightest groupset in its class with exceptional ergonomics, precise shifting and the WiFLi set up (11-32 cassette, mid-cage rear derailleur and compact crankset) attracted Omar to SRAM.
Di Felice also will rely on his Quarq RIKEN R power meter for accurate data from both legs, allowing him to improve his training load and also his race strategy through better time and effort management. He also will ride Zipp Service Course SL handlebars, stem and seatpost from fit and comfort over the many hours in the saddle.
“I will be SRAM brand advocate for road ultracycling races and adventures. I’m very proud of this partnership because I think that there is a lot of interests in this kind of cycling. ‘Adventures’ and ‘Extreme’ are two exciting way to describe our sport,” Omar said.
