The men’s medal race was made up of the top 10 racers in the world, 6 riding Ozone Edge including Florian Gruber,Johnny Heineken, Andrea Beverino, Maks Zakowski, Marvin Baumeister and our own test rider Torrin Bright who went into the race in 9th place. Florian had a very large points lead from the previous days races that was almost impossible to take the Championship away in the final medal race.

Johnny Heineken, the 2012 World Champion had a great last race in very light conditions which gave him an over all second place. Both Johnny and Florian had a superb championships with the first two days they both had bullets in all races. Notable other riders riding the Edge that didn’t make it into the Platinum race were Jhon Mora, Ricardo Leccesse, Lorenzo Giovanelli, Wilson Velaso and Pedro Garijo.

Erika Heineken had a flawless competition, she was riding in the strong 10m conditions way ahead of the fleet, coming in at times over 1:30 minutes in front of second place. Elena was hot on the heels of Steph Bridge all week but just couldn’t manage to get in front, finishing with an impressive 3rd place in tough competition.

In the senior category Ozone also took the 1 2 3 places with Miguel Villar winning the race after a tough gold medal fleet. The event was superbly organised by the KTA and the hospitality in China was excellent, so a massive congratulations to all involved.
